Barbara Tolbert, Arlington Fly-In
It is time again for the Arlington, Washington Fly-In. Barbara Tolbert joins us to talk about what visitors can expect at this year's event. Arlington Fly-In (6/30/09)

Earl Lawrence, Experimental Aircraft Association
Normally Earl Lawrence talks about what is going on with Federal Agencies, since it is a part of his job to talk to them and advocate for pilot interests. But today he talks about what is on the minds of pilots as reflected in a recent survey the EAA sent to members. Experimental Aircraft Association (6/30/09)

Mike Stratman, California Power Systems, Inc.
If you have seized your pistons in your Rotax 582, you will need to replace them. Mike Stratman talks us through the process including disassembly, tools, parts needed and reassembly. California Power Systems, Inc. (6/30/09)

Remember, if you have any questions you want to ask the guests or if you have any of your own comments about a topic, please call the show toll free when we're live at (866) 613-1612. If you have a show idea or know of someone that could be a guest on the show (that could be you!) Contact Roy.

Hope you get a chance to listen in!

And if You Missed The Show Aired on June 23rd..

Check it out below!

Earl Lawrence, Experimental Aircraft Association
Earl Lawrence joins us to give us some good news. The Department of Homeland Security's Office of Inspector General (not an office I would expect to hear good news from) delivered a report that said in part, "We determined that general aviation presents only limited and mostly hypothetical threats to security" and does not require the TSA to increase regulatory oversight of the industry. We talk about how that report came about and what it means as well as what aviators are seeing as threats TO aviation. Experimental Aircraft Association (6/23/09)

James Wiebe, Belite Aircraft
For years it has been my belief that ultralight aircraft should become lighter, not heavier, with the use of newer technologies and materials. Someone else seems to also believe this and is working to make it a reality. James and Kathy Wiebe acquired the production rights to the Kitfox Lite and are using carbon fiber components to make it meet FAR Part 103 weight requirements. We talk with James about the challenges involved. Belite Aircraft (6/23/09)

mp3 podcast

Jim Sweeney, SweeneyCorp
For light aircraft, low and slow flight in the midday offers dangers that many aren't aware of. Jim Sweeney talks about the hazards of mechanical turbulence. SweeneyCorp (6/23/09)

Carol Carpenter, Rainbow Aviation Services
Carol Carpenter discusses misunderstandings many have about the maintenance and equipment side of light sport aviation. We talk about what certificates you need to perform maintenance and inspections on Special Light Sport Aircraft (S-LSA) and some of the things you need to be aware of before you purchase a S-LSA. We also talk about how 16-Hour repairman courses are few and farther apart.  Rainbow Aviation Services (6/23/09)

mp3 podcast

Jason Blair, National Association of Flight Instructors
We catch up with news from NAFI. Jason Blair talks about the revamping of the Master Instructor program and the introduction of the Associate Master Flight Instructor. We talk about what this level of recognition means to students and CFI's alike. We also talk about the FAA's outlook on aviation instruction. National Association of Flight Instructors (6/23/09)
