Interviews with Charlie Becker

Charlie Becker, Experimental Aircraft Association
Skystar Aircraft, manufacturer of the Kitfox kit aircraft, declared bankruptcy last month. That left some aircraft builders with unfulfilled, fully paid Rotax engine orders who discovered that they would be getting neither their engines nor their money back. EAA is helping coordinate an effort to take a little bit of the sting out of the situation. They are working to provide a preferred pricing discount program for Kitfox builders who paid for but did not receive their engines. Charlie Becker joins us to talk about what may be a one-time deal to get this very favorable pricing on Rotax engines for those that were hurt by the bankruptcy. Charlie Becker, Experimental Aircraft Association
Just think, last week we were talking to Earl Lawrence about the 16 hour sport pilot inspection course that allows LSA owners to do their own annuals. Now this week, we are able to announce that two courses have been accepted by the FAA and one of them was put together for airplanes by Charlie Becker from the EAA. Of course he tells us all about it. Experimental Aircraft Association, EAA Sport Pilot (6/7/05)

A lot of pilots have wondered how to convert their fat ultralights and two-place ultralight trainers into E-LSA (Experimental-Light Sport Aircraft) machines. The EAA is now offering an E-LSA Conversion Kit that not only offers a great step-by-step instruction book, it also has copies of the forms required and the placards needed for your aircraft. Charlie Becker tells us all about it. Experimental Aircraft Association, EAA Sport Pilot (5/3/05)
