Joe Norris, EAA Senior Aviation Specialist
Joe Norris was appointed the nation's first designated airworthiness representative (DAR) for function codes 47 (Experimental-Light-Sport aircraft) and 48 (Special-Light-Sport Aircraft) on Thursday, February 17. FAA Aircraft Certification Services Director John Hickey presented Norris with his Certificate of Authority at EAA headquarters in Oshkosh, authorizing Norris to perform inspections and issue initial, recurrent, and replacement airworthiness certificates for E-LSAs and S-LSAs.
