New Summer Show Hours! Listen Live at 12 PM Eastern Time or 9 AM Pacific Time!
UltraFlight Radio can now be found live on Tuesday mornings right here on the web at www.ultraflightradio.com at 12:00pm Eastern Standard Time and 9:00am Pacific Time. But you don't have to hear it live to hear it.
You can also hear (previous shows) at the show archive. We make it convenient for you.
To be a part of the show and you are in the U.S., you can call toll-free: 1-866-613-1612. If you are somewhere that the toll-free number does not work, you can reach us at 1-858-268-3068. Another (often better) way to get questions to us is by E-mail. You can write Roy at roy@easyflight.com
Rob Hughes, Microlight Championship Steward
Robert Hughes was at both Microlight World Championships this year, class (airplane and trike in the Czech Republic) and powered parachute and powered paraglider (in China). We talk mostly about the events in the Czech Republic. British Team Blog (9/18/07)
Terry Doerr, Louisville Flight Service Station
Around 30% of all aircraft accidents have some weather component to them. Terry Doerr has worked for years in both the air traffic control and in providing weather briefings to pilots. We talk about how to take advantage of weather briefings. (9/18/07)
Mike Whaley, Valkaria Air Fest
Last week's announcement of the efforts to sell off the Hillsboro, Illinois airport brought in a lot of response. In fact the local paper (that has the coal company as a sponsor) took down the survey many people participated in when the numbers became something like 95% to keep the airport and only 5% to sell it. One of the letters I received was from Mike Whaley from Florida where pilots have been battling another effort to shut down an airport. We talk about advice for anyone facing the villagers with pitchforks. Valkaria Air Fest (9/18/07)
Mike Stratman, California Power Systems, Inc.
Spark plugs are such small replaceable parts for your engine, but so important. Mike Stratman talks about spark plugs, what the codes on them mean, how to read them, and why or why you shouldn't replace recommended plugs with others. Reading the Plugs (9/18/07)
Glen Moyer, Balloon Federation Of America
Here on the UltraFlight Radio Show we talk about all segments of sport aviation. We've even had the guys that do cluster balloons and blimps, but until now we've never really talked about regular hot air balloons. We take care of that today by visiting with Glen Moyer from the Balloon Federation of America. Balloon Federation Of America (9/18/07)
Steve Camp, Freedom Aerosports
Steve Camp talks to us about a laid back and scenic powered parachute rally over the farming region known as the "Palouse Hills". Fall has traditionally been the nicest time of the year and weather permitting, participating pilots will see some fabulous rolling hills with lots of open areas for viewing the local "critters such as deer, elk and even a moose or two. Freedom Aerosports (9/18/07)
