UltraFlight Radio can now be found live on Tuesday mornings right here on the web at www.ultraflightradio.com at 10:00am Eastern Standard Time and 7:00am Pacific Time. But you don't have to hear it live to hear it.
You can also hear (previous shows) at the show archive. We make it convenient for you.
To be a part of the show and you are in the U.S., you can call toll-free: 1-866-613-1612. If you are somewhere that the toll-free number does not work, you can reach us at 1-858-268-3068. Another (often better) way to get questions to us is by E-mail. You can write Roy at roy@easyflight.com
Brief Seeley, CAFE Foundation
NASA Centennial Challenges has funded two million dollars in cash prizes for a flight competition called the Personal Air Vehicle Challenge. The PAV Challenge is modeled after the "X Prize" and will be held annually at the CAFE Foundation's Flight Test Center. Brien Seeley from CAFE describes PAVs to us, the motivation for the prize, and how the contest will work. CAFE Foundation
Edsel Ford, FAA Light Sport Aviation Branch
We talk with Edsel Ford about buying and selling aircraft. For ultralights, the buying and selling doesn't involve registration of the aircraft. That's different for those offering and purchasing N-numbered aircraft. Learn the rules, paperwork requirements, and procedures need to complete a transaction. Light Sport Aviation Branch
Dale Smith, Prestige Aircraft
It has been a little over a year since we visited with Dale Smith. Since then Prestige Aircraft has begun production of aircraft licensed from Storm Aircraft Srl of Sabaudia, Italy. Dale catches us up with what is going on in Jackson, Michigan. Prestige Aircraft
Mike Stratman, California Power Systems, Inc.
There was a dustup recently about how Rotax distributes their service bulletins and how they're written. Mike Stratman joins us to talk about the hows and whys of those Rotax service bulletins. Learn what to pay attention to and how to determine what you can ignore. If you have questions while the show is live, IM them in on Yahoo Instant Messenger to UFRadio. Roy@EasyFlight.com is the address you can use to E-mail those questions in, if that's the way you prefer to communicate. California Power Systems, Inc.
Jim Sweeney, SweeneyCorp, NAPPF Board Member
Jim talks about the kinds of airworthiness certificates you can get for your aircraft. Then he goes into detail about how Make-Model Sets are organized for endorsement and rating purposes. Follow along by visiting our links on Types of Aircraft Certifications and Light Sport Aircraft Make-Model Sets. SweeneyCorp, NAPPF
David Graves, Kentuckiana Aviation Safety Seminar
David Graves joins us to talk about the Kentuckiana Aviation Safety Seminar coming up at Ivy Tech State College in Sellersburg, Indiana. The clubs in Indiana and Kentucky are joining forces to have a big safety seminar replacing the events in Indianapolis and Terre Haute, Indiana as well as Lexington, Kentucky. David talks about the speakers and what you can expect at the seminar. E-Mail David Graves or learn more at the Scottsburg Aero Club Newsgroup.
Remember, if you have any questions you want to ask the guests or you have any of your own comments about a topic, please call the show toll free when we're live at (866) 613-1612. If you have a show idea or know someone that would be a guest on the show (that could be you!) Contact Roy.
Hope you get a chance to listen in!

And if You Missed The February 27th Show...
You Can Still Get It In The Archives
|
| We archive shows for four to six weeks. But for your convenience, you can access segments from last weeks show straight from this E-mail. Just click on the links below the segment titles.
Joa Harrison, Landshorter
Joa Harrison talks about vortex generators and how they can increase the Short Take Off and Landing (STOL) performance of your airplane. We talk about how vortex generators work and how you can install them on an airplane. Landshorter (2/27/07)

John Keith, P&M Aviation USA
For five years, the Pegasus trike has been unavailable in the US. P&M Aviation USA is now changing that. John Keith talks about the Pegasus trike, where it has been, how it performs, and how you can get one. P&M Aviation USA (2/27/07)

Eric Dufour, Para-Motor City
The lines between Powered Parachuting and Powered Paragliding have been blurring for quite awhile. Powered Parachutes are sometimes using elliptical wings and Powered Paragliders are sometimes using wheels. Eric Dufour talks about the Mini PPCg which, as the name implies, combines a lot of the features of both sports. It's a light weight, Part 103 machine that is gaining its own market. Para-Motor City (2/27/07)

Ronnie Smith, South Mississippi Light Aircraft
A listener has a Rotax 447 engine that's been sitting for two years and now he can't get any fire to the plugs. This is really confusing because before the engine was stored it started fine. He's looking for suggestions as to what to look for and Ronnie Smith is where we're looking. If you have questions while the show is live, IM them in on Yahoo Instant Messenger to UFRadio. Roy@EasyFlight.com is the address you can use to E-mail those questions in, if that's the way you prefer to communicate. South Mississippi Light Aircraft (2/27/07)

Jim Sweeney, SweeneyCorp, NAPPF Board Member
Jim joins us for a discussion about the different flavors of sport aviation. We compare light airplanes, trikes, powered parachutes, powered paragliders, and gyroplanes. The categories of aircraft each have their advantages and we talk about why people fly each of them. SweeneyCorp, NAPPF (Part 1) (2/27/07)
