UltraFlight Radio can now be found live on Tuesday mornings right here on the web at www.ultraflightradio.com at 10:00am Eastern Standard Time and 7:00am Pacific Time. But you don't have to hear it live to hear it.
You can also hear (previous shows) at the show archive. We make it convenient for you.
To be a part of the show and you are in the U.S., you can call toll-free: 1-866-613-1612. If you are somewhere that the toll-free number does not work, you can reach us at 1-858-268-3068. Another (often better) way to get questions to us is by E-mail. You can write Roy at roy@easyflight.com
Larry Clymer, FAA Light Sport Aviation Branch
On the eve of the first big sport pilot transition deadline, Larry Clymer joins us to talk about what happens if you're an ultralight pilot and you haven't yet made the transition to sport pilot. He talks about the continuing value of your letter from your ultralight organization and what really happens if an ultralight pilot doesn't obtain their sport pilot certificate on or before the January 31, 2007 cutoff date. Light Sport Aviation Branch
Dale Hooper, United States Ultralight Association, Inc.
Dale Hooper announces the winner of this year's John Moody Award. This award, USUA's highest, was established in 1991 and is the most prestigious award honoring the history and development of ultralight sport aviation. It's awarded annually to a living individual, a group of individuals, or an organization for efforts over a period of years that have reflected credit upon America and themselves by having made significant contributions or advancements of enduring value in the sport of ultralight aviation in the United States. You get to hear about the award winners here first. United States Ultralight Association, Inc.
Brian & Carol Carpenter, Rainbow Aviation Services
Roy is spending four weeks in Brian and Carol Carpenter's Repairman Maintenance Course in Corning, California. We talk about what is being covered in the extensive course, Roy's mediocre performance there, as well as some very recent (great) news. Rainbow Aviation Services
Bever Borne, Air-Tech, Inc.
We talk with Bever Borne about tires. What tires are best for different surfaces, how to repair tires, and what to avoid when deciding what rubber you want to meet the runway. If you have questions while the show is live, IM them in on Yahoo Instant Messenger to UFRadio. Roy@EasyFlight.com is the address you can use to E-mail those questions in, if that's the way you prefer to communicate. Air-Tech, Inc.
Jim Sweeney, SweeneyCorp, NAPPF Board Member
Jim talks about a flight planning resource we didn't get a chance to talk about a couple of weeks ago, the FAA's graphical TFR List. This site not only lists all of the Temporary Flight Restrictions, it also shows them mapped on the the local sectional. Jim talks about how to navigate the site and some of the other things it offers as well as a couple of other resources (AeroPlanner.com , National Interagency Fire Center BLM , AOPA) that provide TFR information. SweeneyCorp, NAPPF
Mo Sheldon, Airparamo
The 4th Annual 2007 Arizona Flying Circus is scheduled for February 8 - 11, 2007 at the Francisco Grande Resort, near Casa Grande, Arizona. The Francisco Grande offers not just an incredible place to fly, but a number of welcome amenities, including an outdoor heated pool, restaurant, bar, and a premier golf course. Mo Sheldon joins us to talk all about it. Arizona Powered Paragliding
Remember, if you have any questions you want to ask the guests or you have any of your own comments about a topic, please call the show toll free when we're live at (866) 613-1612. If you have a show idea or know someone that would be a guest on the show (that could be you!) Contact Roy.
Hope you get a chance to listen in!
