You can listen to the only All-Sport Aviation Radio Show on the Internet
and...
Check Out The Schedule of Sport Aviation Events Below
|
UltraFlight Radio can now be found live on Tuesday mornings right here on the web at www.ultraflightradio.com at 10:00am Eastern Standard Time and 7:00am Pacific Time. But you don't have to hear it live to hear it.
You can also hear (previous shows) at the show archive. We make it convenient for you.
To be a part of the show and you are in the U.S., you can call toll-free: 1-866-613-1612. If you are somewhere that the toll-free number does not work, you can reach us at 1-858-268-3068. Another (often better) way to get questions to us is by E-mail. You can write Roy at roy@easyflight.com
Garland Travis, UltraFlight Magazine
Gar Travis is a photographer for UltraFlight Magazine and has a few magazine covers to his credit. He talks to us about how to take great pictures of sport aircraft. UltraFlight Magazine
Russell Marsolek, EAA Chapter 919
Russell Marsolek has discovered a way to combine the hobby of Amateur Radio (ham radio) and aviation. In his Challenger I, he placed a small pack containing a two-meter radio, a gel cell battery, and a GPS. The radio is programmed to transmit his GPS location every 30 seconds. This signal is picked up by several ground based “nodes” and is then retransmitted. At many “hams” homes are computers with an Automatic Position Reporting System. Those hams are able to see cars, trucks, and now his plane when he flies.
Peter Rouse, FAA Small Airplane Directorate
Peter Rouse is a Aviation Safety Engineer for the FAA. He joins us to talk about a Special Airworthiness Information Bulletin that addresses concerns pilots should be aware of when using automobile gasoline that contains alcohol (ethanol or methanol) in their aircraft. See the SAIB in PDF form.
Ronnie Smith, South Mississippi Light Aircraft
Ronnie Smith gets a lot of his information from studying service bulletins published by Rotax. He explains how you can receive that same information and how to drill down to the important content in the service bulletins. If you have questions while the show is live, IM them in on Yahoo Instant Messenger to UFRadio. Roy@EasyFlight.com is the address you can use to E-mail those questions in, if that's the way you prefer to communicate. South Mississippi Light Aircraft
Dave Parsons, RunwayFinder.com
Jim Sweeney introduces us to Dave Parsons, who has developed a great, free, on-line planning tool for navigation. Dave talks about RunwayFinder.com and how you use it to help plan your cross country trips. RunwayFinder.com
Jim Sweeney, NAPPF Board Member
Jim talks about another great flight planning resource, the FAA's graphical TFR list. This site not only lists all of the Temporary Flight Restrictions, it also shows them mapped on the the local sectional. Jim talks about how to navigate the site and some of the other things it offers. SweeneyCorp, NAPPF
Remember, if you have any questions you want to ask the guests or you have any of your own comments about a topic, please call the show toll free when we're live at (866) 613-1612. If you have a show idea or know someone that would be a guest on the show (that could be you!) Contact Roy.
Hope you get a chance to listen in!
