Check Out The Schedule of Sport Aviation Events Below

UltraFlight Radio can now be found live on Tuesday UltraFlight Radiomornings right here on the web at www.ultraflightradio.com at 10:00am Eastern Standard Time and 7:00am Pacific Time. But you don't have to hear it live to hear it.

You can also hear (previous shows) at the show archive. We make it convenient for you.

To be a part of the show and you are in the U.S., you can call toll-free: 1-866-613-1612. If you are somewhere that the toll-free number does not work, you can reach us at 1-858-268-3068. Another (often better) way to get questions to us is by E-mail. You can write Roy at roy@easyflight.com

Michael Riggs, Seagull Aerosports
We speak with Michael Riggs, who has been designing and engineering what he is hoping turns out to be the ultimate soaring trike. He's been using the lightest materials and minimalist engineering to achieve that design goal. We talk with him about his experience in the sport aviation world and the trike itself. Seagull Aerosports

Tom Gunnarson, Light Aircraft Manufacturers Association
Tom Gunnarson helps us sort out both all of the terms related to aircraft that sport pilots are qualified to fly and the different manufacturing certifications that go with them. He compares Special Light Sport Aircraft (S-LSA), Experimental Light Sport Aircraft (E-LSA), and Experimental Amateur Built (EAB) airworthiness certifications and what that means to aircraft purchasers and manufacturers. Light Aircraft Manufacturers Association

Mo Sheldon, Airparamo
The last time we visited with Mo Sheldon, we talked about the deteriorating relationship with the airport he was based at. Well, he has moved on to his own facility. He tells the story about what happened to the airport, the new location, and some of its history. Airparamo

Bever Borne, Air-Tech, Inc.
Bever joins us to talk about belt drives for light aircraft. This is a common way to get the power from the engine to the propeller. We learn about the drives and how to maintain them. Bever can also answer your four stroke and two stroke ultralight aircraft engine questions. Do you have questions? When the show is live, call your questions in at (888) 514-2100 or you can IM them in on Yahoo Instant Messenger to UFRadio. Roy@EasyFlight.com is the address you can use to E-mail those questions in. Air-Tech, Inc

Jim Sweeney, USUA and NAPPF Board Member
Jim talks about the special concerns connected to flying in the cold of winter. (Hint: It doesn't just include a warmer coat.) There are things you need to consider in the flight planning process, for the aircraft, and for the pilot and passenger. We also talk about possible emergencies and how to be prepared for them. SweeneyCorp, USUA, NAPPF

Remember, if you have any questions you want to ask the guests or you have any of your own comments about a topic, please call the show toll free when we're live at (866) 613-1612. If you have a show idea or know someone that would be a guest on the show (that could be you!) Contact Roy.

Hope you get a chance to listen in!

And if You Missed The November 28th Show...

You Can Still Get It In The Archives

Dale Hooper, United States Ultralight Association, Inc.
Dale Hooper talks to us about USUA's & USPPA's Flight School listings. In the quest for professional flight instruction, potential sport aviation students sometimes have a tough time finding a facility to take them through the training process. The Flight School listing was created to meet those students' needs. Learn about the listing (and if you're a Flight School Operator) learn how you can get on the list. Colin Potter, Jump Run Enterprises
We talk with Colin Potter, who has produced a DVD on how to build an aircraft fuselage out of 4130 Steel Tubing. This is a compilation of techniques that Colin actually used to build a fuselage and includes both older and newer techniques that builders should know about before starting their building projects. Tim McCord, Performance Designs
There is nothing much more frustrating for a powered parachutist than to have a canopy that constantly wants to turn in flight. Sometimes parachute wings are just built improperly, sometimes lines stretch with time, and sometimes they are rigged using the wrong risers. Tim is not only a powered parachute pilot, he also managed the maintenance department for Performance Designs for many years. We call on his experience to explain the issues involved. Mike Stratman, California Power Systems, Inc.
Last time Mike Stratman was with us, we began a conversation about intercom systems. We continue the conversation; this time focusing on the Comtronics line of equipment. We talk about patch cords, how to figure out what type of mic you have on your headset, and how to match everything up so that it can work well. Mike has some information on radios and patch cords that you should find useful. Mike can also answer your four stroke and two stroke ultralight aircraft engine questions. Do you have questions?
