and...
Check Out The Schedule of Sport Aviation Events Below
|
UltraFlight Radio can now be found live on Tuesday mornings right here on the web at www.ultraflightradio.com at 10:00am Eastern Standard Time and 7:00am Pacific Time. But you don't have to hear it live to hear it.
You can also hear (previous shows) at the show archive. We make it convenient for you.
To be a part of the show and you are in the U.S., you can call toll-free: 1-866-613-1612. If you are somewhere that the toll-free number does not work, you can reach us at 1-858-268-3068. Another (often better) way to get questions to us is by E-mail. You can write Roy at roy@easyflight.com
Dale Hooper, United States Ultralight Association, Inc.
Dale Hooper talks to us about USUA's & USPPA's Flight School listings. In the quest for professional flight instruction, potential sport aviation students sometimes have a tough time finding a facility to take them through the training process. The Flight School listing was created to meet those students' needs. Learn about the listing (and if you're a Flight School Operator) learn how you can get on the list. United States Ultralight Association, Inc.
Colin Potter, Jump Run Enterprises
We talk with Colin Potter, who has produced a DVD on how to build an aircraft fuselage out of 4130 Steel Tubing. This is a compilation of techniques that Colin actually used to build a fuselage and includes both older and newer techniques that builders should know about before starting their building projects. Jump Run Enterprises
Tim McCord, Performance Designs
There is nothing much more frustrating for a powered parachutist than to have a canopy that constantly wants to turn in flight. Sometimes parachute wings are just built improperly, sometimes lines stretch with time, and sometimes they are rigged using the wrong risers. Tim is not only a powered parachute pilot, he also managed the maintenance department for Performance Designs for many years. We call on his experience to explain the issues involved. Performance Designs
Mike Stratman, California Power Systems, Inc.
Last time Mike Stratman was with us, we began a conversation about intercom systems. We continue the conversation; this time focusing on the Comtronics line of equipment. We talk about patch cords, how to figure out what type of mic you have on your headset, and how to match everything up so that it can work well. Mike has some information on radios and patch cords that you should find useful. Mike can also answer your four stroke and two stroke ultralight aircraft engine questions. Do you have questions? When the show is live, IM them in on Yahoo Instant Messenger to UFRadio. Roy@EasyFlight.com is the address you can use to E-mail those questions in. California Power Systems, Inc.
Dan Johnson, ByDanJohnson.com
Dan Johnson just completed a visit to Cessna Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas in his role as LAMA Chairman of the Board. He met with them about Cessna's desire to enter the Special Light Sport Aircraft market. People at Cessna are both serious and optimistic about the market. Dan shares some details of those meetings. ByDanJohnson.com, Light Aircraft Manufacturers Association
Dan Johnson, ByDanJohnson.com
Dan sticks around with us to talk about two EAA Light Sport Aircraft Tour stops about to take place in California. He gives us an update on the tour and how you can be a part of it. ByDanJohnson.com, EAA Sport Pilot
Remember, if you have any questions you want to ask the guests or you have any of your own comments about a topic, please call the show toll free when we're live at (866) 613-1612. If you have a show idea or know someone that would be a guest on the show (that could be you!) Contact Roy.
Hope you get a chance to listen in!

| We archive shows for four to six weeks. But for your convenience, you can access segments from last weeks show straight from this E-mail. Just click on the links below the segment titles.
Max Bishop, Fédération Aéronautique Internationale
Max Bishop joins us to talk about the World Air Games. The World Air Games is an event that's being designed to showcase all of the air sports by bringing together the World Champions and top competitors in ten different air sport disciplines, including microlights. Max talks about the efforts being put into making the World Air Games an event that is attractive for potential hosts, athletes and spectators. With the bidding process for hosting cities and organizations just beginning, we talk about what the FAI is looking for in a host. Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI) (11/21/06)

Mike Loehle, Loehle Aircraft
We talk with Mike Loehle about what it takes to build an airplane. Specifically, we compare the skills and tooling needed to build a wooden airplane vs. a metal airplane. Mike is one of the top experts in the country regarding wood built aircraft and what it takes to successfully build one. Loehle Aircraft (11/21/06)

Greg Gremminger, Popular Rotorcraft Association, Magni USA
Greg Gremminger talks about the process of transitioning from flying airplanes to flying a gyroplane. Many gyro pilots I know seemed to get their aviation start in airplanes and then start looking at flying gyros. We learn whether those pilots have a more difficult or easier time learning gyros compared to someone just starting out in flying. Popular Rotorcraft Association, Magni USA (11/21/06)

Ronnie Smith, South Mississippi Light Aircraft
Ronnie fields listener questions about both 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines. Ronnie can also answer your four stroke and two stroke ultralight aircraft engine questions. Do you have questions? When the show is live, IM them in on Yahoo Instant Messenger to UFRadio. Roy@EasyFlight.com is the address you can use to E-mail those questions in. South Mississippi Light Aircraft (11/21/06)

Stuart Gort, Powerfin
The last time we had Stuart Gort on the show, we talked about his big move to Spokane, Washington. Privately, we had also talked about some of the projects he was working on, but then he wasn't quite ready to go public. Well, we get to visit with him about those projects today. Some of those projects include a wind turbine developed for a Canadian startup company, a two blade, high rpm propeller designed for Teledyne Brown Engineering, a five blade, ducted fan developed for A.A.I. / Honeywell and their first propeller designed for Light Sport Aviation. Check out their web site to see some good looking, high tech props. Powerfin (11/21/06)

Rob Hughes, Sport & Leisure Aviation Show
With winter coming, many aviation events are finding their way indoors. The biggest indoor show in the UK is the Sport & Leisure Aviation Show. The show is one place where you can see all that is new in sport aviation. We visit with Rob Hughes, the organizer of the show and learn what is going on at this year's event.
