To be a part of the show and you are in the U.S., you can call toll-free: 1-866-613-1612. If you are somewhere that the toll-free number does not work, you can reach us at 1-858-268-3068. Another (often better) way to get questions to us is by E-mail. You can write Roy at roy@easyflight.com

Dale Hooper, United States Ultralight Association, Inc.
The Cory Lidle crash last Wednesday in New York City has created a lot of interest in General Aviation, most of it not very pleasant. The aviation organizations have been called upon to educate and bring some reason to both the press and some politicians who seem to be ready to shut down much of private aviation. Sometimes local media wants to do stories with "home town spins" by soliciting local pilots for interviews. If you're contacted, the best answer is normally to refer the media to the aviation organization of your choice, since they are used to dealing with the media. BUT, if you do want to talk to the press, Dale Hooper gives us some tips on what to say and not say. United States Ultralight Association, Inc.

Doug Ritter, Equipped To Survive
For pilots taking the sport pilot practical test for any category of aircraft, the question arises, "Exhibit knowledge of the elements related to emergency equipment appropriate to the following environmental conditions:
1. mountain terrain.
2. large bodies of water.
3. desert conditions.
4. extreme temperature changes."
Well, we bring an emergency equipment expert, Doug Ritter, on to give us some ideas of how to answer those questions. Equipped To Survive

Arthur Greenfield, National Aeronautic Association
Arthur Greenfield was newly elected Vice President and Secretary of the FAI General Aviation Commission (GAC). We offer congratulations and talk to him about what the GAC does, what the NAA does, and how it all relates to the FAI. For good measure, we talk about what all the acronyms mean and how many frequent flier miles Art manages to earn representing the USA at meetings all over the world. National Aeronautic Association

Mike Stratman, California Power Systems, Inc.
Mike Stratman clears up the differences between the Rotax 912 S and 912 ULS engines. Even thought they are basically the same engine, one is for certified and S-LSA aircraft and the other isn't. One can be worked on by anyone and the other needs special training. Mike can also answer your four stroke and two stroke ultralight aircraft engine questions. Do you have questions? When the show is live, call your questions in at (866) 613-1612 or you can IM them in on AOL or Yahoo Instant Messenger to UFRadio. California Power Systems

Jim Sweeney, USUA and NAPPF Board Member
Jim Sweeney talks about 1-800-WX-BRIEF. That one telephone number is referred to when seeking weather briefings, NOTAMs, TFRs, filing flight plans and more. Jim tells us all of the preflight (and postflight) work you can get accomplished by calling just one toll free phone number. SweeneyCorp, USUA, NAPPF

Bob Hasson, Copperstate Regional EAA Fly-In
The Copperstate Fly-In is coming up soon and the Fly-In President, Bob Hasson, joins us to talk about it. If you're in Arizona, that is the place to be. If you're in the cooling midwest, it's still the place to be. Learn what you can be a part of. Copperstate Regional EAA Fly-In

Remember, if you have any questions you want to ask the guests or you have any of your own comments about a topic, please call the show toll free when we're live at (866) 613-1612. If you have a show idea or know someone that would be a guest on the show (that could be you!) Contact Roy.

Hope you get a chance to listen in!

Keith Negal, Chairman, Royal Aero Club Of The United Kingdom
Keith Negal joins us to talk about an issue that can effect recreational pilots all across Europe. The European Aviation Safety Agency has published the Advance-Notice of Proposed Amendment (A-NPA) No 14-2006, "A Concept for Better Regulation in General Aviation (Aircraft other than Complex Motor Powered Aircraft, used in Non-Commercial activities)" That sounds ominous enough. Over the weekend of 7th & 8th of October the European Microlight Federation held its General Conference at the RAF Museum in Hendon, London. There A-NPA No. 14-2006 and the European microlight community's response to was discussed. Keith joins us to talk about how it's important that individual pilots across Europe respond to this A-NPA.
