To be a part of the show and you are in the U.S., you can call toll-free: 1-866-613-1612. If you are somewhere that the toll-free number does not work, you can reach us at 1-858-268-3068. Another (often better) way to get questions to us is by E-mail. You can write Roy at roy@easyflight.com

Jim Robinson, Erie Airpark
The Challenger Fly-In is a week earlier this year, and that is not all that's different this time around. Challenger is going to have its Special Light Sport Aircraft (S-LSA) on display at the gathering. Jim Robinson talks to us about the airplane and the place to be if you are a Challenger owner, dealer, or interested in a great time. Erie Airpark

Scott Johnson, US Airborne Sport Aviation Center
A listener recently wrote in to talk about his quandary. He is a former glider pilot that is wanting to get back into sport flying. He is not sure about whether to get into Part 103 ultralights or into light sport aircraft. Scott Johnson, who is also experienced in both free air and powered flight talks about the advantages and disadvantages of the two forms of flight. He also talks a little about AirBorne's next big offering. AirBorne America

Earl Lawrence, EAA Vice-President of Government and Industry Relations
At the two-year anniversary of the Sport Pilot Rule, we visit with Earl Lawrence to get a review of the last year's activity. We talk about the milestones that have been passed, the increase in activity over the last year, and what can be expected in the near future. EAA has done a great job of gathering facts and figures related to Sport Pilot and Earl shares some of those with us, too. Experimental Aircraft Association

Mike Stratman, California Power Systems, Inc.
Mike Stratman talks about fire protection for Special Light Sport Aircraft. In order to prevent in-air fires, aircraft need to be designed with fuel resistant hoses for fuel and oil lines. Depending on where a fuel or oil line is run, it will need some type of fire resistance. Mike talks about ASTM standards, aircraft design, and things you need to know if you are building an experimental amateur built aircraft. Mike can also answer your four stroke and two stroke ultralight aircraft engine questions. Do you have questions? When the show is live, call your questions in at (888) 514-2100 or you can IM them in on AOL or Yahoo Instant Messenger to UFRadio. California Power Systems, Inc.

Jim Sweeney, USUA and NAPPF Board Member
It makes sense that a pilot should be both current and proficient in the aircraft they fly. But what does 'current' mean? The FAA has specific definitions of currency and Jim Sweeney tells us all about it. He talks about the regulations pertaining to currency and flight reviews and how to meet their requirements. SweeneyCorp, USUA, NAPPF

Morris Yoder, Skyview Powered Parachutes
The Powrachute Extravaganza is coming up again in Hutchinson, Kansas and Morris Yoder, the host again of the event, joins us to talk about it. We talk about what will be going on at one of the bigger powered parachuting events of the year. Skyview Powered Parachutes

Remember, if you have any questions you want to ask the guests or you have any of your own comments about a topic, please call the show toll free when we're live at (888) 514-2100. If you have a show idea or know someone that would be a guest on the show (that could be you!) Contact Roy.

Hope you get a chance to listen in!

Brian & Carol Carpenter, Rainbow Aviation Services
We missed out on the Carpenters' report on some good news last week so we try again this week. They just submitted the weight shift module for the Light Sport Aircraft Repairman Course to the FAA for acceptance. On top of that, they're in the process of putting the finishing touches on the module for powered parachutes. Both modules are scheduled to be offered at the end of October. Brian and Carol talk about these very unique courses and what's included in them. Rainbow Aviation (8/22/06)

Jim Sweeney, USUA and NAPPF Board Member
Jim Sweeney tells us how to log training time towards a sport pilot rating. Basic Flight Instructors (BFIs) and Ultralight Flight Instructors (UFIs) can train pilots for Sport Pilot ratings. We have gotten some questions from both students and trainers on how to log that training time properly. You can get here what you can't get in FAA literature. SweeneyCorp, USUA, NAPPF (8/22/06)
