You can listen to the only All-Sport Aviation Radio Show on the Internet
and...
Check Out The Schedule of Sport Aviation Events Below
|
UltraFlight Radio can now be found live on Tuesday mornings right here on the web at www.ultraflightradio.com at 10:00am Eastern Standard Time and 7:00am Pacific Time. But you don't have to hear it live to hear it.
You can also hear (previous shows) at the show archive. We make it convenient for you.
To be a part of the show and you are in the U.S., you can call toll-free: 1-866-613-1612. If you are somewhere that the toll-free number does not work, you can reach us at 1-858-268-3068. Another (often better) way to get questions to us is by E-mail. You can write Roy at roy@easyflight.com
Chuck Slusarczyk, CGS Aviation
Chuck Slusarczyk spent last week hosting a representative from the South African Civil Aviation Authority. Chuck tells us about the process for having an airplane design being accepted by the South African CAA. CGS Aviation
Mike Loehle, Loehle Aircraft
Mike Loehle has been keeping busy this summer, too. We talk with him about some of the projects going on in both the painting and aircraft replica worlds. We also try to coax a little more time out of him for the Oshkosh sale that was to end this Monday. Loehle Aircraft
Doug Maas, Six Chuter, Inc.
Last time we had Doug Maas on the show, we didn't get time to talk to him about the aircraft Six Chuter was designing and working on as a Special Light Sport Aircraft (S-LSA). This time that's what we focus on. You can see pictures of the Six Chuter Legend XT here. And you can listen to Doug tell us about how it flies. Six Chuter, Inc.
Mike Stratman, California Power Systems, Inc.
Mike Stratman gives us a behind the scenes look at how a parts and service organization works. He talks about what it takes to keep (the right) parts on the shelf, where the technical support comes from, and how the catalog business works. Mike can also answer your four stroke and two stroke ultralight aircraft engine questions. Do you have questions? When the show is live, call your questions in at (888) 514-2100 or you can IM them in on AOL or Yahoo Instant Messenger to UFRadio. California Power Systems, Inc.
Jim Sweeney, USUA and NAPPF Board Member
Do you know what this striping means when painted on the asphalt at the local airport?
If you don't, you should listen to this week's segment with Jim Sweeney. Even if you already know what it means, you'll probably still learn something from new from Jim. I always seem to. SweeneyCorp, USUA, NAPPF
Wyman "Hop" Hochstetler, Hop's Powered Parachutes, Inc.
Hop Hochstetler visits with us about his annual fly-in. There's a lot going on in Walkerton, Indiana this year including a raffle for a powered parachute with the proceeds going to a four year old girl whose parents and sister died in an automobile accident. Learn about how you can enjoy a great weekend of flying and how to win the powered parachute without even attending the event. Hop's Powered Parachutes, Inc.
Remember, if you have any questions you want to ask the guests or you have any of your own comments about a topic, please call the show toll free when we're live at (888) 514-2100. If you have a show idea or know someone that would be a guest on the show (that could be you!) Contact Roy.
Hope you get a chance to listen in!

And if You Missed The July 25th Show...
You Can Still Get It In The Archives
|
We archive shows for four to six weeks. But for your convenience, you can access segments from last weeks show straight from this E-mail. Just click on the segment number.
If this is the first time you plan to listen to the radio show, you may need to download a copy of Windows Media Player. Don't fret, there are versions for the Mac, too.
Jeff Williams, Powrachute
Jeff Williams joins us from Oshkosh to talk about Powrachute's new "Performance +" wing system for the Pegasus. The Performance + wing system is designed to provide approximately 150-160 pounds of additional lift. Benefits are a smaller parachute wing size for better inflations and less drag, an increase in airspeed and glide, less fuel burn, better climb rate, and more stability in flight. Jeff's the one that's been testing the prototype and he tells us about how it flies. We also talk about the new Sky Rascal Sea Mariner. The Sky Rascal Sea Mariner is a combined effort with another company to produce a single seat PPC on full lotus floats. Powrachute (7/25/06)

Michael Purdy, Baja Powered Paragliding
We visit with Michael Purdy, the former cohost of the UltraFlight Radio Show and one of the hosts of the Powered Paragliding Show on World Talk Radio. We talk about his latest project, a powered paragliding school in Baja, Mexico. His approach is to offer the extensive training needed to create better and safer PPG pilots. Baja Powered Paragliding (7/25/06)

Neal Willford, Cessna Aircraft Company
All summer, people have been waiting to learn more about the "proof of concept" airplane that Cessna has been creating for the Light Sport Aviation market. Well, the unveiling happened yesterday at Oshkosh and today we're going to talk with the lead engineer for the project, Neal Willford. He talks about the plane and what Cessna is trying to achieve with it. Cessna Aircraft Company (7/25/06)

Bever Borne, Air-Tech, Inc.
Bever Borne chats with us about propeller balancing. He talks about what works and what doesn't work to keep things running smooth. Bever can also answer your four stroke and two stroke ultralight aircraft engine questions. Do you have questions? When the show is live, call your questions in at (888) 514-2100 or you can IM them in on AOL or Yahoo Instant Messenger to UFRadio. Air-Tech, Inc. (7/25/06)

Jim Sweeney, USUA and NAPPF Board Member
Jim Sweeney is on the ground at AirVenture and gives us an on the scene report about the goings on at Oshkosh so far this week. SweeneyCorp, USUA, NAPPF (7/25/06)

Michael Huffman, Sport Aviation Specialties
Michael Huffman is getting ready for a trip to Maine where he will be teaching the 16 Hour Light Sport Aircraft Repairman Course a couple of times. One session will be for powered parachutes and another for airplanes. We talk about that and what constitutes an electrical system as far as operations in Mode C airspace is concerned. Sport Aviation Specialties (7/25/06)
