You can listen to the only All-Ultralight and Light Sport Aviation Radio Show on the Internet
and...
Check Out The Schedule of Ultralight and Light Sport Aviation Events Below
|
UltraFlight Radio can now be found live on Tuesday mornings right here on the web at www.ultraflightradio.com at 10:00am Eastern Standard Time and 7:00am Pacific Time. But you don't have to hear it live to hear it.
You can also hear (previous shows) at the show archive. We make it convenient for you.
To be a part of the show and you are in the U.S., you can call toll-free: 1-888-514-2100. If you are somewhere that the toll-free number does not work, you can reach us at 1-858-268-3068. Another (often better) way to get questions to us is by E-mail. You can write Roy at roy@easyflight.com
Edsel Ford, FAA Light Sport Aviation Branch
Van Stumpner, FAA Light Sport Aviation Branch
Edsel Ford and Van Stumpner join us to talk about aircraft markings and placarding. Sport Pilot is requiring aircraft owners to find ways to put N-numbers on their aircraft. Edsel and Van talk about how to do it; even on aircraft like powered parachutes and trikes. We also learn about placarding requirements for the mystery switches that a lot of pilots install and don't mark. Learn some of the things it takes to get your aircraft ready for an airworthiness inspection. Light Sport Aviation Branch
Chuck Slusarczyk, CGS Hawk
Like a lot of aircraft manufacturers, Chuck Slusarczyk is getting ready for the temporary migration down to Lakeland in a couple of weeks for the Sun 'n Fun Fly-In. He talks a little about what he is doing to get ready, what he's bringing, and what he'll be leaving there at the Sun 'n Fun Museum. CGS Aviation
Galen Geigley, Powrachute & Soaring Concepts
Another northern company getting ready for Sun 'n Fun is Powrachute. Galen Geigley tells us about what Powrachute has been up to, updates us on the S-LSA certification process for their powered parachutes, and lets us in on what they are bringing to the show. Powrachute Corp
Bever Borne, Air-Tech, Inc.
We got a question last week on engine wiring. A pilot bought a starter for his engine, got it installed, put some current to it and got the engine to turn over. Now that pilot wants to know what some of the other things he needs to make the system work. Bever Borne is the man to ask and we ask him. Bever can also answer your four stroke and two stroke ultralight aircraft engine questions. Do you have questions? When the show is live, call your questions in at (888) 514-2100 or you can IM them in on Yahoo Instant Messenger to UFRadio. Roy@EasyFlight.com is the address you can use to E-mail those questions in. Air-Tech, Inc
Jim Sweeney, USUA and NAPPF Board Member
There have been some questions about Mode C veils, Light Sport Aircraft and encoding transponders. What do you do as an N-numbered aircraft flying in the Mode C veil? Luckily we have Jim Sweeney available to sort out what you need to do to keep yourself straight. SweeneyCorp, USUA, NAPPF.
Richard Oxnam & Mike Radford, Sunstate Wing & Rotor Club
Bensen Days isn't just for rotorcraft anymore. This great event is welcoming light aircraft of all types this year. The Wauchula, Florida event is still the place to learn about sport rotorcraft in the spring of the year. Richard Oxnam and Mike Radford talk about all of the gyro (and other categories of) fun to be had there in a couple of weeks. You can contact Richard at rotornut007@yahoo.com
Remember, if you have any questions you want to ask the guests or you have any of your own comments about a topic, please call the show toll free when we're live at (888) 514-2100. If you have a show idea or know someone that would be a guest on the show (that could be you!) Contact Roy.
Hope you get a chance to listen in!

Tony Anderson, Wings of Paradise, Inc

We visit with Tony about his operation, the airport he is now based at, and of course the airplanes themselves. FK LightPlanes USA (3/14/06)

Jeff Goin, United States Powered Paragliding Association
Jeff catches us up with what is going on in the world of PPGs. The ParaStars event has risen again as the Florida National PPG Convention and we talk about what to expect this year in Polk City, Florida. Jeff has also finished his long awaited book on powered paragliding. We talk about what's in it and when and where it will be available. United States Powered Paragliding Association (3/14/06)

Bill Eggbeer, Trike Pilot
Bill Eggbeer became one of the first Weight Shift Control Sport Pilots last year. He started out by working in the Glider Trike program and transitioned to the Sport Pilot program. We talk about his experience in getting a license to fly trikes. (3/14/06)

Earl Lawrence, EAA Vice-President of Government and Industry Relations
It is spring and legislatures across the land are once again trying to mandate that all gasoline sold in their states contain Ethanol. We talk about two specific proposals, one in Washington State and the other in Missouri. These proposals put a burden not just on ultralight and experimental aircraft owners, but also on owners of vintage cars, motorboats, and other recreational vehicles. We talk about what pilots in the effected states can do. Experimental Aircraft Association (3/14/06)

Mike Engel, Wisconsin Powered Parachute Association
Mike Engel talks about the Wisconsin Powered Parachute Safety Seminar. This is an educational clinic that includes speakers and demonstrations related to the sport. The clinic, which is free and open to the public, is held at the EAA AirVenture Museum. This is an event that is unique to the world of powered parachuting. Wisconsin Powered Parachute Association.
